Kristina Blake-Akkerman, Director & Licensed Occupational Therapist — With 8 years of OT experience, Kristina supervises and provides supportive services for children and their families. She is a Therapeutic Listening Provider and has experience evaluating and delivering occupational therapy services to the pediatric population in many settings, including private pediatric outpatient, home health, and regional schools. She has experience treating children diagnosed with autism, learning disabilities, and profound physical impairments. Her positive approach towards life and an impressive personality serve as an assurance to the clients.
Amanda Moore, Lead Teacher
Hidalina Bermudez, Lead Teacher — Hidalina is in her 4th year of teaching, is certified PCM-Professional Crisis Management Level 2, and is fluent in English and Spanish. Hidalina is dedicated to designing an effective environment to support the goals and development of children of diverse neurological and physical diversities. She creates hands-on activities to promote the development of language, math, and science skills while collaborating with parents, teachers, assistants, aids, and school administrators to facilitate a positive learning experience for all children. Hidalina is also a mother of a child with Down Syndrome.
Amy Gomes, Administrator & Licensed Physical Therapist — Amy finished her Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy in 1980. She has worked in the pediatric field since 1981. In 1991, she established Central Florida Pediatric Therapy Associates. The company grew from serving 1 county with 20 clients and 2 employees to 5 counties, 600 clients and 50 employees in 25 years. In 2009, Central Florida Pediatric Therapy Foundation was formed as a way to give back to the community. In 2013, Central Florida Dreamplex was established as a LLC under the Foundation. In 2019, Central Florida Pediatric Therapy Associates was dissolved and all current therapies are offered through the Central Florida Dreamplex. Amy is the Director of Therapy at the Central Florida Dreamplex. Amy founded Hope Haven Ukraine, a school for special needs children in Crimea, Ukraine in 2006.
Claudia Padilla, Teacher Assistant
Maria Morales-Manacha, Teacher Assistant — Maria has 3 years experience as a teacher assistant, is Certified PCM-Professional Crisis Management Level 2, and is bilingual in English and Spanish. Maria is kind, compassionate, and dedicated to creating an atmosphere that is stimulating and encouraging to children with special needs and assisting them in learning life skills. Maria is a mother of a child with ADHD, left paralysis, and seizures.
Alyia Franco-Craycraft, Classroom Aid — Alyia has 4 years of volunteer experience and 3 years of staff experience at the Central Florida Dreamplex. She enjoys working with children with special needs and assisting them in learning life skills.
