Athlete & Parent Code of Conduct Agreement

Participation in the Orlando Sled Bears program is a privilege and comes with responsibilities. This Code of Conduct outlines expectations for athletes, parents/guardians, and coaches/volunteers to ensure a positive, safe, and supportive environment for everyone involved.

By checking the box below, the athlete and, if applicable, the parent/guardian, agree to uphold the following standards:

Expectations for All Athletes

As an athlete, I agree to:

Respect coaches, volunteers, officials, and teammates. I will listen to my coaches and volunteers, who are working to improve my skills and help the team succeed.

Give my best effort. I will try my hardest in all practices and games, stay patient with myself, and maintain a positive attitude—even when challenges arise.

Commit to attendance. I will make every effort to attend and actively participate in all practices and games. If I cannot attend, I will notify my coaches in advance.

Display sportsmanship. I understand there is zero tolerance for physical or verbal abuse toward coaches, referees, teammates, opponents, spectators, or officials. This includes unsportsmanlike behavior, bullying, or disrespect.

Consequences for violations may include warnings, loss of playing time, suspension from team activities, or removal from the program.

Respect team decisions. I will support the coaches’ plans, decisions, and strategies. If I have concerns about playing time, I will speak directly and respectfully to my coach or the team director at an appropriate time—not during practice or games.

Represent the team with pride. I understand that my actions reflect on both the Orlando Sled Bears and the Central Florida Dreamplex organization.

(Youth Athletes Only): Maintain school performance.

I understand this is an extra-curricular activity and will keep my grades and behavior at an acceptable level to participate.

If my grades fall below a "C" average in any class, I will seek tutoring services.

I agree to provide a copy of my report card each quarter/semester as requested.

I understand that failure to follow this Code of Conduct may result in loss of playing time, suspension, or removal from the program.

Expectations for Parents/Guardians (Youth Athletes Only)

As a parent/guardian, I pledge to:

Support my child positively. I will provide encouragement and care, placing their emotional and physical well-being above any desire to win.

Model good sportsmanship. I will demonstrate positive behavior and respect toward players, coaches, officials, and other spectators at every practice, game, and event.

Respect that the game is for the athletes. I will remember that youth sports are meant to be fun and for the benefit of the players—not the adults.

Encourage respect in my child. I will teach my child to treat others—players, coaches, officials, and spectators—with respect, regardless of race, gender, religion, ability, or background.

Commit to attendance. I will make every effort to ensure my child attends all practices and games and will notify the coaches in advance if my child cannot attend.

Trust the coaches’ decisions. While my input may be valued, I understand that the coaches have the final say on decisions impacting the team.

If there are concerns about playing time, I will encourage my child to respectfully advocate for themselves by speaking directly with the coach outside of games or practices.

By checking the box below, we acknowledge that we have read and understand this Code of Conduct. We agree to abide by these expectations and understand that failure to do so may result in disciplinary action, including warnings, loss of playing time, suspension, or removal from the program.
