About Dreamplex Sled Bears

Discover the excitement of sled hockey with the Dreamplex! Whether you’re looking for recreational play or competitive action, we offer both – complete with all necessary equipment provided.

Sled hockey is an incredible opportunity to learn the game, sharpen your skills, and have fun. Players follow most of the same rules as traditional ice hockey, but compete while seated in specially designed sleds mounted on two skate blades. Each player uses two sticks instead of one, with metal picks on the ends to propel themselves across the ice.

Open to all children and adults ages 6+ with mobility issues or limb differences.


REGISTRATION IS OPEN for the 2025/2026 Season

  • Season runs October thru April/May
  • Practices are held Sunday afternoons and early evenings at The Ice Factory in Kissimmee, FL.
  • Registration Fee: $45
    (Goes toward athlete’s portion of league and tournament fees)

Our History

Dreamplex began its efforts to establish adaptive sports opportunities in 2019 with the launch of its sled hockey team, the Sled Bears—named in honor of Orlando’s local hockey team, the Solar Bears. The program started with a series of practices at the Ice Den in Maitland and the Ice Factory in Kissimmee, giving children and adults with physical disabilities the chance to learn the game, develop their skills, and experience the fun of hockey.

In 2021, Dreamplex hosted a Sled Hockey Jamboree, which introduced kids to the sport while also giving more experienced players the chance to compete with the Jacksonville team. Building on that momentum, the adult Sled Bears team began competing in 2022, traveling to games and tournaments across the Southeast United States.

Dreamplex continues to grow opportunities for its athletes, working to provide the adult team with more competitive experiences while also taking steps to expand youth participation through additional tournaments and events.

Our faith-based mission drives us to include all individuals, regardless of ability, in sports, recreation, therapy, education, and employment, fostering a community of acceptance and support.
