“There are other places where people with disabilities can do sports, but the difference with the Dreamplex is that here, the priority goes to people with special needs,” said Amy Gomes, co-founder of Central Florida Pediatric Therapy Foundation and the visionary behind the project. “So they get first priority on the basketball court, first priority in the ice rink, first with everything. And usually they’re last. Usually it’s a handicapped bathroom and a parking spot.”
