Cameron Gomes
Cameron Gomes grew up in Clermont, FL and graduated Summa Cum Laude in business management from the University of Central Florida. He earned his MBA from Florida Institute of Technology. He spent four years at Lockheed Martin in Orlando while also serving as a board member for the Central Florida Pediatric Therapy Foundation (the 501c3 “owner” of the Dreamplex).
In late 2012 he moved to the Kansas City, MO, area to be closer to his future wife and to gain experience running a recreation facility. Cameron has served as Executive Director/CEO of the Dreamplex since the summer of 2014, before its Grand Opening in January of 2015. He enjoys spending time on the lake with his wife, Sarah, and daughters, Rory and Elsie. He is also a huge UCF football fan! He loves to bring new opportunities to children and adults living with disabilities through Dreamplex programs and services!
Jenny Buchanan
Jenny Buchanan is a seasoned business professional with over 26 years of experience driving sales revenue growth, fundraising development, event planning, marketing & PR, and management. Having spent the majority of her career in South Florida, she relocated to Winter Park, Orlando in 2022 to embrace new opportunities.
Her previous roles include serving as a National Advancement Officer at the onePULSE Foundation and spearheading the establishment of numerous 501(c)(3) organizations. With over 16 years of dedicated experience in the non-profit realm, she has held executive fundraising positions at esteemed organizations such as The Sharing Center, Florida Fury Hockey Foundation, HANDY, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and the American Heart Association.
Jenny’s passion for making a difference is palpable in her commitment to helping underprivileged youth and tackling homelessness within the community. Her hands-on experience at HANDY, where she worked closely with disadvantaged youth to improve their mental health, education, and overall well-being, has greatly influenced her current endeavors.
In addition to her non-profit background, Jenny boasts a successful corporate career spanning nine years, during which she managed over 150 sales executives across 11 states. Her exceptional leadership skills led her to become the top Sales Director in the United States, earning her multiple promotions.
Throughout her career, Jenny has been recognized with various accolades, including The Circle of Excellence award for her outstanding achievements in revenue generation and team building. Her fundraising efforts have encompassed diverse strategies, from securing government grants to cultivating corporate partnerships and closing major gifts.
With a track record of orchestrating celebrity events, strategic planning, and senior executive volunteer recruitment, Jenny brings a unique blend of skills and experiences to any organization. Passionate about helping others and fueled by her love for all sports, she is eager to contribute her expertise to Central Florida Dreamplex and make a meaningful impact within the community.
Amy graduated in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Florida International University. She began working at the largest county hospital in Dade County with her goal of working primarily in the pediatric rotation. When she was moved from Pediatrics, she resigned and began working at Miami Children’s Hospital (now Nicklaus Children’s Hospital). Amy has since worked in the school system, out-patient facilities and home based therapy.
Amy and an OT friend started their own home-based pediatric therapy company in 1991. Central Florida Pediatric Therapy Associates covered 6 counties in Central Florida and employed over 20 full times therapists until merging with Central Florida Dreamplex in 2019.
Amy is the now the lead Physical Therapist performing evaluations, writing up Plan of Cares and overseeing the Physical Therapy Assistants. She continues to cast patients for custom braces.
Amy is the proud parent of 5 adult children and 4 grandchildren. She enjoys reading, playing on her tablet and meeting friends for coffee.
Katie Burg
Katie is originally from Pennsylvania where she was born and raised. She attended the University of Scranton and graduated in 2006 with her Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy. Over the years, Katie has worked with a variety of children with varying exceptionalities including Autism, Down Syndrome, ADHD, Auditory Processing Disorders, Cerebral Palsy, Feeding Concerns, Prematurity, Developmental Delays, and Sensory Processing and Integration Disorders. She has developed and administered a range of treatment plans to improve child’s ability to complete ADLs, IADLs, functional transfers, self-care, fine motor, visual motor, visual perceptual, handwriting, play, sensory regulation, sensory processing, feeding, bilateral integration, direction following, and attention to task in the school, clinic, and home settings.
She started her career at Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital working with populations such as spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, stroke, hip/ knee replacement, amputee, and motor vehicle accidents.
Katie transitioned to the school-based therapy setting in 2008 and spent 10 year working with special education department providing services to students with special needs in the education setting. Over the years in the school system, Katie worked closely with the special education teachers, supervisors, and speech therapist to create and aid in the setup of functional life skills courses and pre-vocational training classes in order to assist with the transition from the school setting to adulthood.
In August 2016, Katie decided to move to the sunny state of Florida. She worked as a pediatric home health therapist providing medical based services in the natural environment including home, school, and daycare setting. Here she worked closely with the parents, teachers, staff, and child to educate and teach strategies and skills to becoming more independent in their natural environment.
Katie transitioned to Central Florida Dreamplex and started as an occupational therapist, but quickly transitioned into the OT Lead role running the Clermont OT department supervising OTR and COTAs. Katie then transitioned into the Therapy and Site Direction for the Clermont location where she supervises the OT, PT, Speech, and Intake Departments. She also assists in program development and management for Dreamplex.
Katie currently has a Feeding Certification (from Feed the Peds course work), Handwriting Certification ( from Learning without Tears/ Handwriting Without Tears), and is an IEP advocate (her experiences in the school system taught her how to understand the educational system and opportunities for a special needs children in the academic setting. While her years as a home health therapist has taught me how to advocate for the parents and caregivers for appropriate educational plans for the child).
Katie is excited to continue to grow both personally and professionally in her role as Therapy and Site Director at Central Florida Dreamplex and assisting and supporting families navigate their ever changing world with their children with special needs.
Carol Rodriguez
Carol is the Orlando Site and Therapy Director. She came to Dreamplex working in our OT department as a COTA and then moved to our Orlando location when we opened in January 2020. She has 7 years of experience as a COTA and 15 years of experience as a teacher. She has a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and a master’s degree in educational leadership. She has certifications in Handwriting without Tears, a feeding certificate from Feed the Peds course, and Brain Gym. She has a passion for working with young children and is an advocate for families to have access to excellent therapy.
